Murphy's Piggly Wiggly on Columbia Avenue in Franklin is closing by the end of the year. The grocery store has seen a decline in business in the wake of higher-end grocery stores opening in town, The Tennessean reports. "It has nothing to do with rent or anything like that," co-owner Chad Murphy told The Tennessean. "Sales have been in decline with Franklin growing, competition growing. Our piece of the pie has been getting smaller."
