Target settles data breach lawsuit for $39M

Target Corp. has settled a class-action lawsuit over its 2013 data breach for $39.4 million. The agreement affects banks, credit unions, and other credit card issuers that aren't party to Target's cases with Visa and Mastercard. It still needs a judge's approval. Minneapolis-based Target (NYSE: TGT) will pay up to $20.25 million to banks and credit unions and $19.11 million to credit card issuers, according to Wednesday's court filing.
