​Franklin American reaches $70M settlement in federal mortgage probe

Franklin American Mortgage Co. has agreed to pay $70 million to settle federal charges that the mortgage lender originated federally insured mortgage loans that didn’t meet underwriting requirements, the U.S. Department of Justice announced Wednesday.
